Dream Cures: Suggested Techniques

In this final section you will be introduced to a few techniques that are recommended both by other learners, and also a few professionals. They may not be of any use to you, depending on your personality, but perhaps they will spark some ideas, or provide a starting line.

If you are going through some sort of emotional trauma such as depression, it is not wise to experience extreme enjoyment while in a lucid dream, this will further displace a person from reality, and make them wish that their waking lives could be equally enjoyable, creating a sense of disappointment. A better way (in some cases) to fight against depression or oppressive emotions is to give them a physical form inside a lucid dream, and deface them in whatever way you see fit, eventually impacting on the way you see the problem in a wakeful state.

If you enjoy music you will usually find that you can easily simulate a song in your Dream State, this can be useful in maintaining a relaxing mood while attempting some sort of mental repair, in most cases classical music is recommended, but if you are just in need of a boost in mood, choose music accordingly.

It is not wise to attempt too much at once, take everything slowly until you are sure that you can handle anything your dream state can throw at you. Remember to make your Dreamscape a place of absolute refuge, so that if anything goes wrong, there is always a safe place to go, short of waking up.
